Rules of the Rainbow – Inclusivity

For our first few blogs I thought we would post the Rules of the Rainbow, which of course can be found in the link at the top of almost every page. But this way, anyone who finds our brand new site can comment!

We here at Suck The Rainbow want this place to be a community for all. If it’s legal and practiced by consenting adults, it’s all good with us!

Littles, bears, daddies, pups, ponies, masters, mistresses, slaves, subs, switches, furries, gays, lesbians, asexuals, trans of all sorts, and so much more, even the ren fair folk, cosplayers and con geeks… you are all welcome and honored here for your uniqueness and what you have to offer our community.

BUT… there is always a “but” isn’t there?

This much diversity also means that on more than one occasion you will run into something you personally find offensive, triggering, or that for some other reason makes you unhappy.

We are sorry that you are upset, and we do wish that you never had to deal with anything that takes joy from your life. That is a take it to the bank, solid gold truth. We do not want anyone that comes here to be uncomfortable or unhappy.

However, that is as far as we will go about the subject. Unless we deem there to be a problem with statements made when compared to the goals we have created for Suck The Rainbow, we will not silence or remove anyone, take down any post, comment, product, or page, or in any other way take the voice away from one person to suit another’s sensibilities.

This may at first seem at odds with the Respect statement you just read, but honestly, it’s more a continuation of a theme.

We have decided that in order to truly respect each of the lifestyles, and every individual, that make up the greater alternative community, this is simply the way it must be. You do not have to agree with it, you do not have to like it, and you don’t even have to be quiet about how much you don’t agree with it or don’t like it.

You simply have to accept that the things you don’t like exist, and be civil in your conversations if you decide to talk about how much you don’t like them. That is all we ask.
